 Animation Sensations Animation Art Gallery sells a variety of Warner Brothers limited edition, hand colored
animation etchings. These unique etchings were designed by skilled artisans using original animation artwork from Warner Brothers animation studios.The etchings are made using a centuries old hand-printing technique and are lovingly colored by hand using watercolor paints.
The Printing Process: The artist scratches the design (in this case, the character's outline) into
a varnish-covered zinc or copper plate with a steel engraving needle. The plate is then placed in an acid bath until the newly etched lines have reached the desired depth. The varnish is then removed and the plate is polished. Next, the printer applies ink to the surface of the plate, and then cleans it, so that the ink remains only in the deep, etched lines. The etchings are printed on wet hand-made paper using a hand-driven printing press printing.
The Coloring Process: Once the paper and ink are dry, the color is applied. Each etching is colored individually, by hand, with watercolor paints. This detailed process makes these animation etchings very special; each etching is a one-of a-kind work of art.
 Every limited edition animation art etching is labeled, signed, and numbered in pencil, in very small writing. An etching that is numbered 5/500, for example, is the fifth etching in a total of only 500 etchings made, making it a unique piece.
