This beautiful animated film is an icon in the industry and an American classic. Walt Disney auditioned dozens of actresses for the voice of Snow White before picking the young singer Adriana Caselotti for the role. For other roles he chose well-known radio and screen personalities including Lucille LaVerne as the Evil Queen and Billy Gilbert and Pinto Colvig (who also voiced Goofy) as dwarfs.
Snow White's classic artistry, bright colors, loveable characters, and enchanting songs were an immediate hit with audiences; the film grossed $8.5 million worldwide during its first release. The appeal of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remains over 75 years later: in 2008 American Film Institute named it the greatest animation film of all time.
Animation art, production cels, and production drawings from Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are important works of art and rare pieces of animation film making history.
